Elsa Gindler in context #2: Writing and Resistance

One of the stories you may hear about Elsa Gindler is that she didn't write much, and/or that her writings were all destroyed in a fire at the end of the Second World War. This is not true. She wrote a lot, she got her students to write, and even though a lot was destroyed, there is still a lot of material to study and learn from.

In this episode I look at the implications of this myth about Gindler, and explore how her writing might be seen as part of her resistance against the antil-intellectual thinking that was a problem in her day ... as it is in our own time.

I also recorded some highlights from Gindler's lectures (in English translation), so you can get a sense of what a good writer she was, and how important writing is to the whole picture of this remarkable practitioner.
